I believe it dates back to at least the first dynasty for various reasons including the radiocarbon dating of bones that were found, as well as a vast quantity of stone vessels inscribed with the names of 1st dynasty kings. I won’t go over the evidence again in this video but you can watch my first video on the subject here:
This video is a follow-up or a Part 2, and there will also be a Part 3 and possibly a Part 4, because there is a lot more to say. The main subject of this video is a little known ancient document that relates to the Pharaoh Djoser and is known as the Famine Stela.
As well as looking at how the Famine Stela gives us evidence about Djoser's pyramid being an ancient waterworks, it also gives us a clue about there the ancient high technology for building stone structures such as pyramids comes from. Furthermore, it may be the location of the first pyramid of Egypt, the only pyramid that is built 100% of granite and one that inspired the pyramid building age. It is known at the Pyramid of Elephantine or the Yebu Pyramid.
Did Imhotep, the architect of the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, get his pyramid building knowledge from the priests of the Temple of Khnum on Elephantine Island, an island that includes some incredible examples of stone carving techniques and that archaeologists know was occupied since Pre-Dynastic times?
