Straight Up Sit Up - Demonstration The straight up sit up is a pretty straight foreword abdominal exercise.
The key to avoiding neck strain and create upper abdominal activation is to make sure you drive your chin and hand straight up to the ceiling NOT FORWARD!
Start by laying completely flat on your back with your arms extended, act as if you are holding a servers tray of water and you do not want to spill that water.
Sit up by pushing your hands and chin upwards towards the ceiling finishing in a perfectly straight position with your arms overhead, biceps behind ears, creating a straight line from your hands, shoulders, and hips. Then lower back down keeping the arms extended as if you are still holding the tray of water and keeping your chin up towards the ceiling.
