This morning we leave Bukhara for our drive to Samarkand. After a long fairly unspectacular journey we arrive later than anticipated so have a rest by the hotel pool. That evening after our dinner we have a late look at The Registan, apparently one of the most photographed places in Uzbekistan which was so obvious why! The next morning we embark on our exploration of the sights, starting with the Obseratory of Ulugbek followed by the Mausoleum of Saint Daniel and onto the spectacular Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. After lunch the adventure continues with the Bibi Khanym Mosque with its giant Qur'an stand then onto The Registan for a full detailed daylight extravaganza. Utterly amazing to see the three Madrassa's and Mosque in all their glory. We end our day with a night out with entertainment from several of our group, not least "Dave Travolta" on the dance floor!
