welcome to witchdoctor phD,
my name is daniela, and i am the witchdoctor phD. (see what i did there?)
i started this channel in 2016 because I was in love with the project panning community here in the beauty world. videos from ladies in that world inspired me to adopt a healthier mindset when it came to my beauty consumption habits and shift the focus from purchasing makeup to actually using it and experimenting with it.
my channel is a uniquely me space. which means it is a hodge-podge of things, mostly related to beauty. the main focus of this channel is a project-panning and makeup exploring. learning how to use and love your makeup in new and creative ways and de-emphasizes consumption.
off the silver screen, i am a first-generation Xicana wom(b)an pursuing a PhD in biology at the university of california, san diego. i am born & raised in southern california, and have lived here my whole life, barring the four years i spent in massachusetts at williams college, a small (but mighty) liberal arts college in the berkshires. now, on the eve of graduating with a doctorate, i have found myself on a journey of improving the educational experience for scholars in higher education, particularly for those scholars that come from non-traditional backgrounds and diverse backgrounds.
my journey through education has run parallel to my journey through spirituality, i am a multi-spirit / polytheistic hippie child who prays to the ancestors, honors the God of Fire and Water, and attends church on Sunday to listen to Jesus speak. i truly believe the divine lives in every corner of this world and presents in many forms. this blending of spirituality and education form the core of who i am.
