Harris introduces bill for all-day schools that serve low-income families

Sen. Kamala Harris, who is running for president, introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate that would align school schedules with parents’ workday. The bill would transform elementary schools serving a high number of low-income families into 500 Family Friendly Schools. The schools would be open from 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and would be funded by a 5-year grants of up to $5 million. Get the full story in the video above.
