Venezuelan Interior Minister Nestor Reverol held a press conference on Friday to discuss the recent publication of a series of photographs featuring Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido along with some members of a suspected Colombian paramilitary group known as 'Los Rastrojos’.

Reverol pointed out that "all these elements of evidence of Guaido's direct links with the top leaders of this Colombian paramilitary organization, Los Rastrojos, show once again his association in all the terrorist actions planned in Venezuela to undermine democratic stability and peace.”

The Minister of the Interior added that "the National Executive will give all elements of criminal interest to the Public Prosecutor's Office so that the respective investigations can begin and justice can be done."

For his part, Juan Guaido stated that he did not know the identity of the people with whom the photographs were taken, and rejected the implications on the part of the Venezuelan authorities, stating that thousands of people ask him to take a picture with them.

Guaido wondered about how the images were obtained, saying "the question is who gave those photos to Diosdado Cabello, who is then the one who has the link.”

A series of photographs of Juan Guaido with members of the Colombian paramilitary group 'Los Rastrojos' were published on Thursday. According to reports, members of this criminal gang helped the opposition leader to leave Venezuela irregularly.
