Mom accidentally shoots her 18-year-old daughter when she comes home An Ohio mom accidentally shot her 18-year-old daughter in the arm after mistaking her for an intruder when she came home on a surprise visit from college, police said.The mother told cops in Girard that she was home alone, expecting no one, when her daughter opened the door to her bedroom about 9 pm Friday.That's when she fired a single shot from a .38 special revolver, Girard Police Chief John Norman told 21 News. 'She had no idea I was coming and thought someone broke in to hurt her and as I ran through the door she was in fear for her life and shot me,' the daughter, Hannah Jones said in a Facebook post.The mother, who was not named by police, gave investigators a similar story.  Hannah Jones (above), 18, described in a Facebook post how her mother accidentally shot her in the right arm Jones said on Facebook that her right arm (above) was shot, and that when she was wounded she 'crouched down and let out two screams''She stated that the bedroom door opened where she was at -- and she had a gun readily available -- and she fired a round at someone coming through the door,' Norman said.Authorities did not immediately provide more details when contacted by DailyMail.com. Jones was treated at an area hospital and released, reports 21 News, Jones said doctors found bullet fragments in her elbow (above), which was broken in three places Jones said on Facebook that doctors operated and attached 8 screws and plates to her armCops said they recovered a revolver from the bedroom floor, next to the bed. The weapon had four live rounds and one spent round in the cylinder. The mother, who had a concealed weapons permit, was visibly distraught, Norman said.'We will collect all the facts, and we will present it to a prosecutor, not to be malicious, the chief told 21 News. 'But we have to present the facts like we would in any other case.' Jones said on Facebook that her right arm was shot, and that when she was wounded she 'crouched down and let out two screams.'She then applied pressure to her wound and asked her mother to get help.'I told her to call 911, but she was panicked,' said Jones. Jones wrote on Facebook that she's going to have a 'long and painful journey and recovery.'
