Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install, the PTC Cabin Air Filter in our 2016 Honda Civic. It's going to be designed to keep your cabin air clean when you're traveling, or driving down the road. What happens when it's not clean is, you get a dusty smell or something like that inside the car, you know this needs to be changed. It's a good idea to change this once a year. Check it and make sure it's clean.



The more clean it is, the lower your allergy problems you're going to have, the better air quality you're going to have inside your vehicle.Let's go ahead and show you what the other one looks like. If you notice, it's kind of a gray color. So, it's doing what it's supposed to do, it's keeping most of the contaminants out of the interior of the car, but it's not going to keep them all out. If you look down inside, you see a lot of dirt down in the edges there. So it's keeping most of the contaminants on the filter.



Again, just like a home air filter, this needs to be changed at least once a year. Because eventually, it's going to wear down, and it's going to allow more contaminants to come through, which means it's going to get inside the cabin of the vehicle and make the air quality much lower.This filter is going to be constructed of a white media particulate, which is going to capture up to ninety percent of contaminants that could potentially enter the cabin of your vehicle.To begin our installation, we want to open our glove box. We want to grab right back here, in each corner, and we're going to pull down like that. Right up here, you're going to see, it says "air flow." Right above it, you'll see this. You're going to push it on the tab on each side, like that.



Of course then on these two tabs. Her old filter . and then we enter her new one. You want to make sure the wrong side of your air filter matches the air flow direction. We'll take this, and we'll slide it right into place.



Then we're going to reinstall our cap, and we're ready to go.Once you've installed your new Cabin Air Filter, you're ready to go. Again, I'm Shane with etrailer.com.
