The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will obtain an Anti-Drone Directional Jammers from Singapore, because the tender process for the AFP Direction-Fired Jammer Fired Acquisition Project was completed after a successful public offer. This project is part of Horizon Phase 2 of the Revised AFP Modernization Program which covers 2019 to 2023.
AFP includes the requirements to obtain Direct Fired Directional Jammers as part of the Horizon 2 RAFPMP phase after the experience gained during the 2017 Marawi City crisis.
This prompted the AFP to begin the acquisition of a number of anti-drone jammers that could help troops lower enemy drones, or even protect installations from drones.
In this case, the AFP requires the acquisition of 9 sets of directives, enough to equip 9 special personnel teams whose mission is to hunt or defend against enemy drones.
