Lon Humphrey knves original edge is straight grind with V edge but sharp. However, I like convex so I re-sharpning it to convex. Lon Humphrey Brute's 1095 steel blade height is wide, so grind the bevel with a belt grinder. Using a #40 belt, straighten the left bevel from the middle to the edge. The bevel on the right just flattens a little above the edge. When the work is finished, use the slack of the belt to make the bevel convex. Then grind with # 60- # 600 belt. Never grind edges during this process. Making the edges is a sharpening stone job. Make an edge using 1000, 2000 and 5000 stones. 1000 is a very important stone. Sharpen to trace the belt traces over time. But touch the edges gently. Make an edge with 2000. Carefully sharpen the edges. 5000 is just a polish.
