Hollywood actress Jane Fonda said she attempted to meet US President Donald Trump after his election with a group of "beautiful, voluptuous, brilliant" climate activists, including Pamela Anderson, in order to convince him to tackle global warming. "I kind of know men like Trump, not as bad, but you know, I sort of know those inclinations," the 81-year-old added.

Pictures released by Russian President Vladimir Putin's press service appeared to show that he uses Windows XP operating system on his official computer. It is also installed on Putin's computer at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence near Moscow, reports said. Microsoft last provided security update for Windows XP in 2014 and warns computers running it might be more vulnerable to security risks.

France has vetoed China's move to convene a UN Security Council (UNSC) meeting on Kashmir, reports quoting French diplomatic sources said. "Kashmir will not be discussed in UNSC. Our position has been clear. Kashmir issue has to be treated bilaterally," French diplomatic sources said. In August, the UNSC had met on Kashmir at China's request after India abrogated Article 370.

The Australian government on Tuesday issued travel advisory following protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and asked its citizens to exercise a "high degree of caution" while travelling to India. The advisory also talked of possible terrorist attacks. Earlier, the US, the UK, Singapore, Canada and Israel had warned their citizens against travelling to northeast India.
