“True or False: SYNETIQ provide fuel for the North West Ambulance Service?” (Quiz November)

“True or False: SYNETIQ provide fuel for the North West Ambulance Service?” (Quiz November) Nantwich Ambulance First Responder scheme include two members, Gavin Palin and Max Kelly. We are unpaid volunteers who give our time freely to help and care for people and save lives in our community. Nantwich First Responders provide coverage for Nantwich, Crewe, Wrenbury, Wybunbury and surrounding areas.

Synetiq Ltd is sponsoring our work with 2 vehicles, full maintanance and fuel. Thank you.
Nantwich First Responders work on behalf of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and attend serious and life threatening 999 calls in and around the community to provide the earliest possible intervention for patients in the first few minutes until the arrival of an Ambulance.

The emergency calls that we attend include:

Abdominal pain
Allergic reaction
Breathing problems
Fitting
Diabetic emergency
Chest pain
Stroke
Loss of consciousness
Collapse
Cardiac arrest
Respiratory arrest
Traumatic Injuries
Falls
Burns/Fires

Within our organisation we have Max who is an Enhanced First Responder and we have Gavin who is a Volunteer unpaid Staff Responder and is qualified to an level 1 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Gavin is able to attend further 999 calls such as Road Traffic Collisions aswell as those listed above.

We as a local organisation like to get members of our community involved as much as we can and are always happy to deliver CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) familiarisation sessions. We have done this in the past to other local organisations and their members are now much more aware of the positives of using an AED and proving CPR to a patient as early as possible to give them the best chance of survival. If you are involved in or know an organisation or group that would like to be shown these skills or simply a talk on how North West Ambulance Service First Responders work, please message us to arrange.

Nantwich First Responders are sponsored by Car Transplants and Nantwich Town Council.

Over the last 13 years Car Transplants in Hurleston have been donating fuel and parts to keep our vehicles on the road to enable us to attend to emergencies in our community. Car Transplants have played and continue to play a vital role in supporting Nantwich First Responders and this is appreciated by every emergency call we attend.

Nantwich Town Council have contributed to the running cost of our vehicles by making a very generous donation for the insurance every year. Again this is appreciated on every emergency call we attend.

Our scheme continues to run by donations from members of our community and we thank those who have donated, It is very much appreciated.

Thank you for visiting our Facebook page and we hope that you benefit from the information we provide.
