An even more simple version of the turban. This time is more of a headband as it’s thinner and still quite super easy to make with a simple ribbing pattern. Follow along with the instructions below:
//// Instructions
Easy Ribbing Turban
#4 Worsted Yarn.
#9US (5.5mm) needles.
Cast on 31 stitches any way you wish. I used the long tail cast on.
k=knit
p=purl
repeat from * to *
English Mock Rib:
Row 1.- *k3, p1*, end with k3.
Row 2.- k1, p1, *k3, p1* end with k1.
Repeat these 2 rows for what the the measurement of the head is
plus 1.5 or 2 inches.
Let’s say a head measures 22”, so work the piece for 23.5 to 24 inches.
Bind off in pattern. Leave long tail, to sew. Weave in beginning tail.
Fold one edge (beginning) in half.
Fold the end edge in half and “sandwich” one half of this one inside of the folded beginning edge, then fold the other half outside these 3.
Sew all 4 edges together. Make knot and weave in end.
