Ground Report: JNU में Hostel Fee Hike के ख़िलाफ़ Protest कर रहे Students को Delhi Police ने पीटा

A protest by JNU students broke out on 11th November 2019 outside the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus over the issues of Hostel fee hike, Dress Code and Curfew timings. The protest was organized by the JNU Students' Union. On the same day, the JNU administration also organized the third annual convocation. Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu was the chief guest. Delhi Police and CRPF cane charged and water cannoned the students. Many students injured. Team Lallantop visit the JNU campus and talk to the protesters over the issue. They allege that the JNU Vice-Chancellor, Mamidala Jagdish Kumar is not meeting then and passing the draconian order without consulting Students' union. JNU Teachers Association is also supporting the students. In New hostel Manual, a hike of 600% is proposed in annual hostel charges. JNU Administration didn't respond to the queries posed by media even after multiple attempts.
