Schiff responded that he does not know the whistleblower's identity and that he will do everything in his power to protect it. Which does not make sense because in order to protect a person's identity, shouldn't you know it first?
There have also been contradictory statements made while Schiff was on television giving interviews. On CNN, he evaded the question of whether his staff had been in contact with the whistleblower. On MSNBC, he said the staff had no contact with the whistleblower. He later corrected his MSNBC statement and proclaimed he meant that in the context of an interview.
The problem here is that it is widely known that Schiff, or at least - his staff, have had direct contact with the whistle-blower. So what is the truth and what isn't? Seems like Schiff is confused on that particular question himself.
