It is the first Saturday Commons sitting since the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands. The SNP leader said: “My growing suspicion is that Labour will allow Boris Johnson to get his deal over the line. “It seems to me that it is possible we have a situation where Labour have an official position of opposing this deal but are giving nods and winks to so-called Labour rebels in the hope that there’s enough of them that allow it over the line.” Ms Sturgeon is not an MP but all 35 of the SNP MPs are expected to vote against the deal. Whilst the Tories no longer command an absolute or working majority in Westminster and lack the support from the DUP, some Labour MPs have already confirmed they will vote for the deal. Great Grimsby MP Melanie Onn is one of them. In an article, co-authored with Tory Victoria Prentis, the duo vowed to “implore our colleagues to use this unique chance to help us move on, and get back to helping our constituent”. They added: “The risk of letting this final shot at a deal slip through our fingers is too great.”
