A simplified version of the combined Russian communication, data exchange, navigation and identification (OSNOD) system, which is now undergoing trials as part of the fifth generation Su-57 fighter jet, is now being developed for drones, the developer said on Saturday. . "We are now doing various work to adapt the system for various operators, including unmanned systems," Alexei Ratner, head of Polet science and technical holding center of Russia Electronics (part of the state company Rostec), told TASS.
He added that the modification of the drone would be smaller.
Ratner previously said the Su-57 variant, which was designed specifically for this aircraft, is now undergoing state trials along with the aircraft. This will increase encryption protection and anti-interference features.
The OSNOD system was created to control various types of aircraft in real time during combat operations. This can be mounted on planes and helicopters, ships, moving objects and ground-based stationary.
