Fight inside the RDS leads to alleged stabbing outside Higher Options college fair

Fight inside the RDS leads to alleged stabbing outside Higher Options college fair Footage has emerged on social media today of a fight inside the RDS which led to an alleged stabbing outside the venue where the fight continued. The RDS was hosting the Higher Options college fair for school children this week. There are suggestions that rival African gangs from Blanchardstown and Tallaght were involved in the brawl.

Dublin Live is reporting that it is understood one person was taken to hospital and that armed gardaí flooded the scene. Two others also sustained injuries, none of which are believed to be serious. Dublin Live say the stabbing occurred outside the RDS on Simmonscourt Rd.

However, the Irish Times is reporting that no stabbing occurred.

"It is understood the young man was chased through the Higher Options event by a group of youths. They were stopped by security inside the event before they caught him and were asked to leave. It is understood they were not in school uniform at the time. Once outside, however, it is believed they encountered the youth they had been chasing and an assault took place. The victim was not stabbed, contrary to reports circulating on social media."

Video posted to snapchat was labelled "A stabbing in the rds and we have to que [sic] like this fml" and "just got stabbed at higher options". FML stands for 'F—k My Life'.

The Higher Options event, organised by The Irish Times, is an annual three-day education expo for second level students, providing help in making decisions about future studies.
