EPP boss backs 'European way of life' job title

European People's Party leader Manfred Weber lent his full support to the 'Protecting the European Way of Life' job title on Tuesday (17 September), insisting it is the best way to combat far-right narratives.
The Bavarian politician told reporters: "is there someone in this room who wants to live the Chinese way of life, or the African way of life, or the American way of life? I want to live the European way of life".
On the subject of Hungary's Commissioner candidate, László Trócsányi, Weber asked for "a fair assessment and chance to present himself", ahead of a Parliament hearing in October.
