Did the Sony Spider-Man Drama CHANGE the MCU D23 Announcements??

SPECULATION, but I've got a theory on why the Saturday MCU D23 panel was lacking. We'd heard that after the SDCC Phase 4 MCU panel, D23 would be EVEN CRAZIER! That didn't happen, was it because of the Sony Spider-Man drama??
