Hong Kong police fired tear gas again at protesters that massed at Harcourt Road on August 5. That was amid a general strike that kicked off in the morning and paralysed the city. The protesters, who want Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam to step down, continue to demand an investigation into police use of force at protests, and full democracy for the city.
