Either Disney or WarnerMedia will likely pull the plug on publishing comic books, which will effectively kill off the direct market and mainstream comics. According to a recent Forbes article, it's very likely that DC will be the first to go, as WarnerMedia is cash strapped as they build their Netflix rival HBO Max, and they've already folded some other brands into the main DC Comics line as well as ending MAD Magazine. Are we looking at the end of the mainstream comic book industry? Meanwhile, crowdfunding and manga sales are BOOMING...
