Russian President Vladimir Putin is shown attempting to feed a baby in awkward footage - as he attempts to address the country's falling birth rate. He met the infant and his mum, Lilia, who has nine children, at their home. But little Vladimir seem to show little appetite for being fed by the strongman leader, 66. “Give it a bite, what a good boy,” he says after catching the food before the baby drops it. “You are doing good,” the 66 year old Kremlin president assures young Vladimir. Russian supporters claim their president showed he is adept, experienced and relaxed with children. But it comes persistent rumours, denied by his officials, he has a secret young family with his suspected partner Olympic gold medal winning gymnast Alina Kabaeva, 36. The latest speculation is that the former sportswoman, who now runs a media empire, gave birth to twins in Moscow last month. “Looks like he had a lot of practice with babies in recent times,” posted a user called Olga, referring to Putin’s cake-feeding pictures. “It’s really nice to see his human side, another commenter wrote. "He seems to be a doting parent." His government is seeking to reverse a declining birth rate and Putin hailed Lilia and Maksim Syropyatov from Krasnoufimsk in Sverdlovsk region who have nine children, with little Vladimir the only boy. The couple were one of eight across Russia to receive an award at the Kremlin in May from the president, known to be a grandfather. Putin visited the family in their home town this week, with a financial prize of 100,000 roubles - or £1,260. “This award means the world to us,” said Lilia, 35, whose husband, 37, is a railway electrician.
