After 72 days on the hard stand, Nandji is ready to float again!!!! Will everything work??? In this episode of Sailing Nandji, the final task of boatyard boatwork gets done as we sand back and re antifoul the hull of Nandji. This is a filthy and tiring job but lucky for us we have spent many hours previously preparing the hull and sanding back and fixing areas meaning this time around, the task was kind of easy! Then after a few little dramas before lifting time, we manage to get everything in order and be put back in the water. Will everything work? I HOPE SO!!!!
Thank you to everyone who has watched our videos and contributed to our new engine. It is all because of you legends we have been able to install this brand new engine and re-power Nandji. With all this boat work being complete our vessel is becoming indestructible as we get her ready for our next big trip across the Indian Ocean.
With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papuea New Guinea and Indonesia and finally arrived to the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the next big adventure. Currently on the hard stand, we are re-powering and completing a major refit! The work is now complete and Indonesia here we come!
We departed Australia in July 2017 and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! Indian Ocean here we come!!
