Fr. Connole Proclaims The Importance Of The Lesson Of In today's homily, Fr. Connole proclaims the lesson of kindness and compassion when employing fraternal correction as illustrated in today's First Reading in the Acts of the Apostles. Apollos was preaching eloquently and fervently of the baptism of repentance that was preached by St. John the Baptist. However, as observed by Priscilla and Aquila, who were in attendance, Apollos was unaware of being baptized in the spirit.

So, rather than "make a scene" or openly oppose Apollos, or engage in heated debate, Priscilla and Aquila, took Apollos aside "privately and quietly" and explained to him more thoroughly and completely, the teachings of being baptized in the spirit.

In this way, which exhibited kindness and compassion, Apollos was receptive to the fraternal correction by Priscilla and Aquila, which allowed Apollos to grow in grace, knowledge, and love, for the greater glory of God.
