You would have witnessed the many public art installations. One of our favourites is ‘The Miraculous Journey’ by British artist Damien Hirst. Here we bring to you a glimpse of this amazing sculptures and some quick facts about it.
Damien Hirst's 14 giant sculptures, depicting a fetus's journey from conception to birth, were unveiled at the entrance of a new Sidra Hospital in Qatar, after being covered for 5 years.
This series of fourteen monumental bronze sculptures chronicles the gestation of a fetus inside a uterus, from conception to birth. It ends with a statue of a 46-foot-tall anatomically correct baby boy.
Placed in front of Sidra Medical Centre, which is dedicated to women and children, the venue and piece empower each other. It is a particularly audacious commission, and one that will stimulate debate at home and abroad for years to come.
