Gurugram: The video of a woman being accused of criticising the dress sense of a group of girls has been going around on social media. The middle-aged woman allegedly asked seven men at a restaurant to rape the group because they were wearing short dresses.
The video was uploaded on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. The clip was shared widely on all social media platforms and the woman received immense backlash for her orthodox mindset.
In the video, the woman was approached by a group of girls who had earlier been criticised by the former. The girls followed the middle-aged woman in the entire store and asked her to apologise for the statement made by her.
After the girls started following her, the woman asked the store staff to call the police. On being asked to apologise, the woman refused to repeat her statement and told the girl filming the video to "go to hell".
Seeing the discussion in the store, a woman who was visiting stood up in support of the girls and asked the woman to apologise. A mother herself, the woman stated that it is women like her who encourage males to nurture a patriarchal mentality. On being asked about the feeling of rape, the middle-aged woman reiterated that women should not wear short dresses.
In the end, the woman looked into the phone cameras and said "these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them". In response to which, the shoppers present at the mall started clapping. The woman even asked the parents of the girls to "control them". The woman further asked the girls to spread the video all over the country.
After the video was posted by one of the girls, it went viral on all social media platforms. The video was later deleted by Instagram because it violated its community guidelines. The woman accused of critisizing the girls later conducted a poll on Facebook asking people to support her statement.

A group of young women in Gurgaon near Delhi confronted a middle-aged woman after she allegedly asked men at a restaurant to rape them because one of them was wearing a short skirt.
A widely-shared video shows the women cornering the older woman and threatening to make her "viral" if she did not apologise.
"This middle aged woman you'll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion," claimed Shivani Gupta on Facebook, along with a nine minute-plus video of the confrontation.
After the alleged incident at the restaurant, Ms Gupta said, she and her friends led the woman to a shopping centre nearby where they insisted that she apologise.
"Apologise right now. I will make your life a living hell if you don't apologise, I promise you that. I will make you viral," one of them can be heard telling the woman in the video.
The group of women can be seen following and surrounding the older woman inside a home furnishing store. The middle-aged woman, whose details are not known yet, tries to walk away, refusing to apologise.
As the group of friends follow the women around the store with their cameras, another woman joined the chorus and took on the middle-aged woman.
After about eight minutes of being followed, the woman spoke up. "Hello guys, these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them. Theek hai? Wow, very good. All the ladies wear the shorter dress or naked to (be) raped. Hi all, if you are the parents, please control the girls (sic)," she declares, looking into the mobile phone camera.
The young women were heard mocking the older woman's accent and pronunciation.
