How to hand wash cloth diapers using bucket and plunger:
1) Spray or rinse all diapers (even just pee diapers) after the diaper change before putting them in the pail.
2)Cold Rinse- 50 plunges
3) Drain
4) Hot wash with detergent (1/2 tsp-2TBS depending on your water hardness)-50 plunges
5) soak for around 30 Minutes
6) Plunge 50 more times
7) Drain
8) cold water rinse-50 plunges
9)Drain
10) Rinse each item separately in sink or shower.
11) wring our flats
12) roll covers and boosters to get out excess water
13) hang flats and covers on the drying rack
Tips: (Many more tips mentioned in video!)
* wash first thing in the AM. Diapers dry much faster outside in the sun.
* washing 3-4 flats at a time is easiest. More than that it becomes difficult to plunge. I recommend washing 2x/day. If that’s not possible I would separate the diapers into 2 loads.
*drilling small holes in your plunger makes plunging easier and more effective.
