Grace VanderWaal received the "Women of Distinction" Honor May 7, 2019 from the New York State Senate. She was nominated by Senator David Carlucci who has worked closely with her and her 'Little Miracles' charity. This short clip was posted by Senator Carlucci on Twitter afterwards, where he also tweeted: " Proud to nominate Grace VanderWaal for the NYS Senate Women of Distinction honor. After she won America's Got Talent, she came to me asking how she could help the next generation of talented students, while promoting music education in schools where it was absent. #BeTheExample "
