Does the victim have to have a visible physical injury for the defendant to be convicted of domestic violence or spousal abuse? A defendant can be convicted in a domestic violence case without any visible signs of injuries. However, it makes it more difficult, and obviously a jury would be more apt to convict if there was a sign of violence, some physical sign of violence.
