Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe A group of anti-bullfighting activists gathered in Seville on Wednesday to protest against the city's traditional April Fair which will take place from 5 to 12 of May.
Chanting 'Seville is anti-bullfighting' and 'abolish bullfighting', protesters waved red and yellow bats and set off flares to symbolise the colour used by matadors at the events.
The demonstration was organised by the group AnimaNaturalis, who vowed to continue their struggle against animal abuse.
According to the director of the organisation in Spain, Aida Gascon, more than 130 bulls will be fall victim to the celebrations this year.
"Sevilla will be covered by blood and we want that the April Fair becomes a party free of cruelty, of animal abuse. We have to give a voice to animals because there is nobody to defend them," she said.
The Seville Fair typically takes place two weeks after Easter and involves drinking sherry, eating tapas and bullfighting.
