Hyderabad: More than ten labours died in a tragic situation that took place in Teeleru village of Marikal Mandal of Narayanpet district of Telangana. More than 25 people went this morning for labour work under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme-MGNREGS. All the labours were digging soil in the water pond to make pits. Suddenly huge blocks of soil fell on them, causing the tragedy. Immediately labor informed the local people and started rescue operations. As of now 11 dead bodies extracted from the fallen soil blocks. An eye witness of the incident says more than 15 people were working when the incident happen and the number of deaths may increase The district officials rushed to the place where the incident happen and enquiring the people to know the reason of the accident.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep shock and anguish on the ghastly incident. In a message the Chief Minister stated that it is an unfortunate incident. The deceased certainly belong to the poorest strata as they are on their way to work in scorching heat. Expressing deep condolences, CM has instructed the Minister and officials concerned to accord immediate care in all manner. Minister Srinivas Goud visited the place and supervised the rescue operations.
